You can climb up the Uhustein and look down into the valley from above. The rocky dome is secured with a railing so you can reach the edge.

At Uhustein, small tunnels had been driven into the granite in small businesses from 1803 to 1815 in order to finally and finally win 3,100 hundredweight brown iron stone, a preliminary stage for fine silver, which, however, did not lead to any noteworthy profit during the 12 years of operation. Mining near Villingen was abandoned. Much more interesting information can be found on the Internet under "Der Uhustein" - Villinger Geschichte. For me, the Uhustein is a beautiful childhood memory of wonderful walks with my parents in the Germanswald, especially in winter, when we still had plenty of snow.
