    This is the perfect place to admire Amsterdam from above. The elevator ride is animated by special effects. Arrived at the very top, you have several bars/restaurants with a breathtaking view of Amsterdam as well as an outdoor part with a swing activity in the void! Access is chargeable.           Every Amsterdammer knows it: the iconic building on the IJ, built by architect Arthur Staal on behalf of Shell. The tower houses offices, clubs, restaurants and even has a swing on the roof. You will be taken upstairs in the various lifts, such as a disco or karaoke lift. “I never go on that swing, but I always send people there.”

            Architect Arthur Staal was commissioned in 1965 to design a new head office for Shell. He draws the tower at an angle of 45° to the bank of the IJ, giving it the name 'Overhoeks'. After Shell's move in 2009, the tower will be vacant. After a major renovation, it will be renamed A'DAM Toren and reopened in 2016 and will house offices, entertainment venues and an observation point with revolving restaurant.

              Very nice view of Amsterdam. But the restaurant is not worth it. Fries and burgers are too expensive and there are better fries in town.
