In the midst of fields, on the outskirts of Eschede, where today the town hall, school and library stand, built the miller Carl Heyer 1874 his mill: a Erdholländer with massive brick tower. Eschede itself had not had a mill until then, and the nearby Quarmühle on the Aschau had been demolished in 1870. The young mill enterprise developed therefore well. In the 1920s, the miller Flohr expanded the business with an electrically operated threshing machine, a circular saw and a local freight forwarder. In 1925 he bought a diesel engine and dismantled the wings to move in 1941 with his mill operation in a new building. The old mill served from then on as a lumber room and threatened to expire after the operating task completely. In 1979, however, the community decided to completely restore the mill. She received wings and Stert again and is used today for exhibitions, and not least as a "dream mill". The neighboring Musenmöhl, the mill building of 1941, now houses the community library and is used as a cultural center.
