Artena is a very large municipality (it has around 14,000 inhabitants) located in the northernmost part of the Lepini mountains, it is a symbolic gateway to it. The ancient village is very interesting, with intricate alleys and stairs that wind between the stone houses. From the upper part of the village you have a wide view of the immense Sacco valley, the Prenestini mountains to the north and the Simbruini to the east.
