A small beach which can be accessed from the cycle / pedestrian path between Levanto and Bonassola. I recommend visiting it at sunset because of the suggestive light, especially in the late summer period.

It is a place historically known for its copper mines which remained active from 1200 until the last century. Its name "La Francesca" probably derives from "Francigena", the famous medieval road that led pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela in France, and from these rocky coasts a road was built connecting the sea and the important via di communication.

Only a few steps, a two-minute walk from the cycle path to the cliff, and you immediately notice a different temperature.
