This stretch of path along the Neerbeek stretches from above the restored mill to the area where it flows into the Maas.
- The flooded area where it flows into the Maas is not accessible.
- A particularly attractive section in the area of the Friedelesse mill with wonderful views of both the mill complex and the village of Neer.
But the further course also shows how the formerly canalized stream is changing again through renaturation measures.
In the flood years of 1993 and '95, Neer was also half under water. Since then, the policy of water protection and management has changed fundamentally. In the past, drainage by means of increased flow rates of the streams was the focus - today, however, a slowing down of the flow rate with flooding and the restoration of moorland areas is required.

BY THE WAY: the Neerbeek is actually a continuation of the Leubeek, which flows through the particularly attractive NGK Leudal. This in turn is a continuation of the Tungelroysche Beek. The Neerbeek only gets its new name after it flows into the Haelensche Beek on the right.
