A statue of Pieter Bruegel the Elder was inaugurated in November 2015 at the Kapellekerk in Brussels.
Actually, it should have been there for thirteen years, but the Bruegel statue was the subject of political and community tug-of-war for years.
It is a bronze statue created by sculptor Tom Frantzen.
The statue was placed at the Kapellekerk where Bruegel is buried.

The statue of Pieter Brueghel in Brussels is a tribute to the famous Flemish painter who lived and worked in the sixteenth century. The statue was made by Belgian sculptor Tom Frantzen and was unveiled in 2019 at the Kapelle Church, where Brueghel is buried.
