The city pharmacy on the market square is a Renaissance building from 1592. The impressive and richly decorated bay window was added in 1606.

The lower parapet shows the four seasons between five saints. On the upper parapet are the coats of arms of the Gera Principality of Reuss younger line, as well as the mother and two wives of Heinrich Postumus. It was not until 1847 that the city pharmacy was located on the ground floor of the building. The Gera Art Association organizes constantly changing exhibitions on the first floor.

The building was built at the end of the 16th century.

The two-story, round bay window is decorated with reliefs below the windows. The reliefs on the first floor show representations of the four seasons, those on the second floor have coats of arms with reference to the then sovereign Heinrich Posthumus Reuß: in addition to his own coat of arms, the Reussian one, that of his mother (Solms) and those of his two wives (Hohenlohe and Schwarzburg) . Between the panels of the coats of arms and seasons there are depictions of ten apostles (on the first floor Bartholomew, James the Elder, Simon Peter, Andrew and Christopher; on the second floor Thomas, Philip, Paul, Judas Thaddeus and John).
