"About 800 meters from the Temple of Antas are the Roman quarries from which the limestone cliffs that were used to build the place of worship were extracted.
The limestone is porous, with a not very fine structure. In fact, parts of the temple were plastered after the laying.
The work was carried out with a hammer and chisel, while the transport was probably carried out with ox carts. In the quarries, the cutting lines used to mine the limestone blocks are still clearly visible. "

ハイキング
A little further, hidden behind the Roman quarries I and II, there is a third quarry. Nobody else found their way here during our visit, which is a real shame. The information boards explain how different stone extraction was at that time.
