To get to the Bertahütte, you can also take hiking trail 679, which leads from Kopein to the Rossalm. In the last third of the route, you then reach this scree field which is located east of the Ferlacher Spitze.
This route is not the preferred option to get to the Bertahütte, but is often used for the descent.
The hiker has a breathtaking view of the Karawanken massif. Surefootedness and a head for heights required, because the path through the scree field is not paved.
