Grosse Strasse goes through the Neumarkttor.

Only the round tower of the Neumarkttor has survived. Like the Zinna Gate, it was created around 1300 and expanded between 1480 and 1490. In 1999 it was restored. The square tower was demolished in 1909. The archway was a traffic obstruction and was demolished in 1839. The whereabouts of the gatekeeper's house are unknown. The Neumarkttor also had a kennel with kennel walls, but these have not been preserved.

The outer gate still exists, the gate being built in the late 15th century. Since 1984, traffic has been routed around the gate. Remains of the Zwinger walls were discovered during these road works.

The Neumarkttor was built as part of the fortification of Jüterbog from the early 14th century. Like the other city gates, it included an inner and outer gate, which were connected by a ward. In the 19th/20th Century, the medieval city fortifications were increasingly razed. The outer gate of the Neumarkttor was preserved and was renovated and upgraded in recent years as part of the thorough repairs to the B102 and ancillary facilities.
