The pump house in Valley is one of the oldest and rarest technical monuments in Upper Bavaria. On its gable side there are three tuff stones with dates: 1637 (or 1657) for the construction by the County of Valley, 1784 for a renovation by Count Tattenbach-Rheinstein, and 1886, when Count von Arco-Valley had the current pumping station installed. The pump house probably served as one of the first water lifting stations in Upper Bavaria to transport spring water to the plateau, especially for the Valley brewery, which is over 350 years old.
