To the north, the first forecourt of the castle is cordoned off by the mighty Georgstor, which is named after its builder, Duke Georg the Rich of Bavaria-Landshut. On the outside, the Bavarian (left) and Polish coats of arms (right) refer to the client, Duke Georg the Rich, and his wife Hedwig, a Polish king's daughter.
