Sorry, Konrad, this was never a nudist area. The beach you're referring to is about two kilometers further east.
In the 1980s, the Marienlust and Schmetterlingshorst White Fleet piers were merged here. Anyone wanting to visit the restaurants now had to walk one kilometer from here.
After reunification, the boat operations were discontinued, which was also one of the reasons why the two restaurants had to close. The main reason, however, was the increased rents, which the operators could no longer pay. The jetty here was later removed.
Schmetterlingshorst now has its own jetty and a jetty for small boats.
