Just being set up when I visited.
The tower was built in 1637 under the reign of Grand Master Jean de Lascaris-Castellar. It is one of the Lascaris Towers built at the same time, whose task was to monitor the coast of Malta and warn of approaching enemy ships. At that time, the Order of Malta limited itself to building small watchtowers, as larger garrisons could not be maintained at every possible landing point on the deeply indented Maltese islands.
From here you have a very nice view down to the sea.

The view of the coastline is wonderful. What bothered us was that a large part of the tour follows a busy road. There was also a lot of trash along the road... what a shame!
