The sixth stage of the Sigwardsweg leads from Idensen in a northwesterly direction over the Rehburg Mountains to Loccum. After 10 km you first come to the village of Bergkirchen. The oldest parts of the St. Catherine's Church date from the 12th century. In 2000, a modern Christ cross was erected in the area around the village, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Steinhuder Meer in the north and the Schaumburg region as far as Porta Westfalica in the south. Behind Bergkirchen, from Wölpinghausen, the ascent into the Rehburg Mountains begins. This ridge reaches a height of 161 m above sea level and leads to Bad Rehburg. From Bad Rehburg, the route continues westwards to Loccum. The route initially leads through the Rehburg Mountains and soon through gently rolling hills. The pilgrimage route runs along a historic network of paths, along Bad Rehburg forest promenades and past viewing and picnic areas. After another 5.5 km you reach the Luccaburg, the first of the two Loccum pilgrimage stations. Today only a ruin, it was founded in the 9th or 10th century as a moated castle in swampy terrain. After just 1 km along the Fulde through the forest you reach the second pilgrimage station in Loccum, the Loccum Monastery. It was founded in 1163 as a Cistercian monastery by Wulbrand and Beatrix von Hallermund. The grave of the Hallermund family is also located here. The construction of the monastery church began a good 40 years later, in 1200.
