A hiking trail that has been reopened not only shortens the walking times between Zwingsteg and the lower Klamm car park P1. Instead of the busy tar road, it also leads through quiet, shady wooded areas. The new path, which is actually a very "old" one, is almost 900 meters long. The chairman of the Breitachklamm Association, Franz Rietzler, knows how to tell from the story. In the past, the farmers and school children who were on their way to the armchair or to the Hinteren Enge walked this way. Known by the field name "Platten- und Hakenweg", it was later designated by the municipality of Oberstdorf as "Wanderweg 30". When the tar road was built in the armchair area, the path no longer seemed necessary and fell into disrepair.
It was about 40 years ago, but those responsible at the Breitachklammverein had been thinking about reactivating this beautiful forest path for some time. In winter it is better to wear spikes under your hiking shoes. The path is steep and it is easy to slip through the ice.
