In 1953, the house was founded as the "Bertolt Brecht" holiday home for forestry workers.

At the end of the 1960s, the FDGB presidium converted the house into an international conference center and guest house due to its attractive location.

In 1993, the Teikyo Foundation (Germany) was established - a foundation for academic, scientific and cultural exchange and to promote friendship.

In 1994, the Teikyo University Group acquired the site and the buildings.

In 1996-1998, the house was completely renovated and redesigned with extensive investments. To date, more than 2,740 students from Japan, the USA and other countries have completed various study programs.

Since 1999, an international language holiday camp for children and young people from all over Europe has taken place every year from the end of June to the end of August. This camp is organized by the GLS Language Center language school. Based on the GLS summer camp program, language camps have also been held during the Easter and fall holidays since 2005.

Since 2004, the Teikyo Foundation (Germany) has been running courses with the International College that allow foreign students interested in studying at a German university to acquire the necessary qualifications and entry requirements.

Also since 2004, Teikyo Berlin has been offering youth groups and school classes the opportunity to hold project days or school trips in the youth guest house.

The Hotel Teikyo Berlin offers both the appropriate rooms and the event service with catering and accommodation for our guests for various events - from weddings, anniversaries and company parties to meetings, seminars and conferences.
