    There are always beavers to be found along the peat bogs, and the chance of seeing a beaver is quite high here.

    In the moor you cross over three bridges the three peat channels of the Anklam city break. From them you have a beautiful view of the open water surface with floating bulten that grown naturally from sour grasses. After the second bridge, an old wooden signposts the way, as soon as it goes through a sparse spruce stand (reforestation from the 1940s). At the third station there is next to the information board a lookout tower with a wide view over the reed peat. With the binoculars you can watch marsh harriers and white-tailed eagles. One of 20 white-tailed eagles can be seen on a jaw in the rear view area. In the area in 2017 there were twelve white-tailed eagle breeding pairs.

    The now lined by oak path meets after some time on the third peat channel, which you follow left hand to the bridge. From here it gets a bit boggy. After about fifteen minutes you then hit a Plattenweg - the old connecting road between Bugewitz and Kamp. In rainy times, he is partially under water and can only be walked on with rubber boots.

      If you hike through the Anklamer Stadtbruch, you should definitely have very good shoes, long clothes and hiking sticks or similar with you to make your way through the reeds. The "path" can sometimes only be guessed at as such, it is extremely overgrown! Even in dry summer weather, sturdy shoes are necessary, as you can always bag something. The exit to Rosenhäger Damm is always a bit under water, rubber boots are highly recommended here. You can also meet wild boars here... The bridges over the peat canals are very good!

        The hiking trail is more natural. In contrast, the bridges appear very solid. These are the best ways to take a look into the reed desert. In winter there is a stark contrast between golden reeds and deep blue water.
