This is a nature conservation project of the POLLICHIA, whose information board has the following text on site:
"Here goats are used to maintain the landscape. They preserve the valuable open land of the old vineyard terraces. Many animals benefit from the flowering plant cover that is being restored and the terrace walls that have been kept free."

The goat grazing is in the hands of the Krämer family (Krämer Hof, Haßloch).
The Krämer family writes on a board: "Dear people, our goats are always supplied with food and fresh water, even if this is not obvious to you at first glance. The animals are looked after by us on a daily basis. We ask that you refrain from feeding , as this is more likely to harm every animal and in most cases is fatal or weighs down high veterinary bills. If you are observing something and are unsure - do not hesitate and give us a call.
