Castle Rebstein
Rebstein's landmark is a riddle of architectural history.
Rebstein Castle seen from the south. The design in the Renaissance style of the 16th century is striking on the 2nd floor. The masonry of a medieval core structure can be seen on the left and in the lower part of the building.
1244/72 probably built under Abbot Berchtold von Falkenstein.
former Castle of the Lords of Ems destroyed in the 14th century.

1418 Around 1418 new building by Hugo von Watt from St. Gallen.
1585 Around 1585 expansion to today's "Haus zur Burg" by Daniel and Christoph Studer.

Former Castle of the Lords of Ems destroyed in the 14th century. Around 1418 new building by Hugo von Watt from St. Gallen. Around 1585 expansion into today's "Haus zur Burg" by Daniel and Christoph Studer. Came to Colonel Bruges von Salis-Soglio in 1661.

1923 Donation to the Bishop of St Gallen for the establishment of an educational institution for girls.

Renovated in 1949 and since then owned by the Seraphic Liebeswerk Solothurn
