The architecture of the tower impresses: The structure consists of a framework with three pillars around which the staircase winds. The triangular shape is repeated at the intermediate platforms and the viewing platform at about 25 meters above the ground.
From the top you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the Fichtelgebirge and the Franconian Switzerland. For guidance, there are hints on the platform all around what you can see in that direction.

On the Kalvarienberg (642 m) north-east of the village there has been a 25 m high steel observation tower since 2015. The observation tower on the elevation with the strange-sounding name Kitschenrain not only impresses with a wonderful view from the Fichtelgebirge in the north-east to Franconian Switzerland in the west, but also the unique triangular construction of the modern steel tower with external stairs is a special feature. The 25 meters high tower with 133 steps and a triangular viewing platform is a popular destination for hikers and cyclists. The European watershed also runs here.
