ハイキング
The Michelsberg is of volcanic origin and with 588 meters the highest elevation in the Bad Münstereifel city area. In the Prüm goods directory (Urbar) from 893 the former name "Mahlberg" is preserved, which lives on in the same place name at the foot of the mountain and suggests an early medieval court. The first chapel was probably built at the beginning of the 14th century. Its tower was used in the French and Prussian times as a measurement point of the 1st order. After being destroyed by lightning in 1836, it was rebuilt between 1857 and 1860.

Unfortunately the church was closed today, probably only open at fixed times. You can see inside through a small spy, but you can't see much except the wrought iron grating in front of the chancel.
