Count Westerholt's Lion Park was an approximately 2.7-hectare site surrounded by two fences up to 4 meters high. Visitors drove along a 4-kilometer-long winding road in their own cars or by bus and could admire up to 250 animals in the wild.
To my knowledge, nothing remains today, except for the Lion Park Restaurant (which now houses a Chinese restaurant).

Here is a beautiful forest, which is mainly made up of older copper beeches. On the edge pretty views of the green of the golf course with extensive groups of trees. The area is ideal for long walks and hikes between Gelsenkirchen-Buer and Herten-Westerholt.
