Pergamon was an ancient Greek city near the west coast of Asia Minor in present-day Turkey, about 80 km north of Smyrna (now İzmir). During the 3rd and 2nd century BC Pergamum was the capital of the Pergamene Empire, which extended over much of western Asia Minor.
The former urban complex indicates an intensive life; due to the dimensions of the theater, a lot of things point to an enormous catchment area for me.
