At the exit of the Wilfernertal - where the Thalerbach flows into the Drau - is one of the most beautiful late Gothic churches in Tyrol, the Church of St. Korbinian, clearly visible from the Drautal main road, on a hill. The church was built in 1460/1465 during the reign of Count Leonhard von Görz-Tirol and consecrated in 1468 by Auxiliary Bishop Kaspar von Salzburg. It is dedicated to St. Korbinian. He is referred to as a bringer of faith, with Saint Ulrich (890 to 973, church patron in Oberthal) being regarded as a propagator of the faith.
