The Voortberg is a Hageland witness hill about 50 meters high on the banks of the Demer. On old maps, the hill is almost always referred to as "Wijngaardberg". An apt name when you consider that the southern flank was covered with vines.
Today, the Voortberg is marked in the landscape by a high transmission tower for TV distribution.

It is worth making the short climb up to the radio mast on the top of the Voortberg and stopping there for a while. In good weather you have a beautiful view.

Quite a calf biter but always pleasantly surprised by the beautiful views. The environment is also quite difficult. The village and natural nature reserve Demerbroeken.

One of the most popular places to take pictures while climbing and walking on the Voortberg in Testelt. This lookout is located just in front of the tower/mast on the hill and there are some blocks of iron sandstone (there are traces of old iron sandstone quarrying in this area). What is especially nice here is the open view from a high place in all directions of Testelt and beyond. Further on you will find places with views over the Demerbroeken between the foliage.
