The Basilica of the Virgin Begoña, patron saint of Bizkaia, is located on a small hill in the city center. Sancho Martínez de Arego built the church in the early 16th century where the Virgin appeared.

The basilica was built in the Gothic style. The main colonnade forms a victory column in the Renaissance style.

The baroque style profitable was destroyed in the First Carlist War and replaced by today's profitable from the Isabella era. Gothic wooden sculptures of the Virgin Begoña made of wood can also be found in this church.

The bell tower dates from the 20th century.

The portal dates from the Renaissance and has a large triumphal arch. Inside, the classicist retable of the high altar, where the shrine of the Blessed Virgin is located, is the most impressive. The large bell tower with a tower dates from the early 20th century.
