The Lanstroper Ei is a water tower with steel K-truss and a steel container, since 1981 already as a water tower without filling and out of service.
This tower is visible from afar on a hill south of the A2 motorway in the north-east of Dortmund, in the Lanstrop district. The nickname derives from this location and the shape of the steel container, although technically the tower is in the Grevel district and the container is not actually egg-shaped either.
