The chronologies are not lacking to establish it. In 1887, Guy de Maupassant's yacht, the Bel-Ami, entered the gulf bordered by the Maures hills, adding to the character of its calm splendour. Five years later, it is the turn of Paul Signac's Olympia to anchor in the port. In all this blue, these sets of reflections, the old Suffren tower and the citadel offer something to cling to the light, producing an unparalleled softness when the sun goes down.
