The park with villa and outbuildings built by the Giessen manufacturer family “Gail” has been expanded over several generations since construction began in 1839. The villa and park (listed since 1999) were private property and not open to the public until 2002. The “Gail’scher Park Friends’ Circle” was founded in 2000 and succeeded in having the park renovated as an important garden monument and made accessible to the public.
