Here, in an inconspicuous parking lot on road 630, a monument to Norway's first foreign car tourist was erected: the Dutchman Beduin passed here in 1901 on his way from Oslo (then: Kristiania) to Lærdal.

You can also admire the Lærdals Stream as it carves its way through the black rock and flows in raging waterfalls all the way to the Sognefjord. The two royal roads - the Vindhellavegen and the Sverrestigen - lead from here up the mountain and to the Borgund stave church.
