On the basis of the main state comparison of June 30, 1803 between the Kingdom of Prussia and the Principality of Palatinate Baiern, a total of 183 boundary stones were set on the defined border line. They extend from the Buchbrunnen on the Czech border near Seedorf / Gde.Schirnding to the area south of Marktredwitz near Reutlas. The border line from 1803 still describes today, with a few deviations, a valid border: that between the administrative district of Upper Franconia and the Upper Palatinate.
