The Kappl pilgrimage church on the Glasberg was built between 1685 and 1689 by Georg Dientzenhofer as a symbol of the Trinity and is the landmark of the Stiftland. More information at kapplkirche.de.

One of the Stiftland's landmarks and an important baroque circular building stands on a hill three kilometers from Waldsassen. This impressive building was built here on the 628 meter high Glasberg by Georg Dientzenhofer between 1685 and 1689. The special architecture and furnishings of the Kappl symbolize the Holy Trinity.

The Holy Trinity Chapel stands in the former convent area of the Waldsassen Cistercian Abbey and was incorporated. The oldest predecessor was already built under Abbot Daniel in the second half of the 12th century in order to recover a trinity picture that had been attached to a tree by a lay brother and was soon considered miraculous.
After the restoration of the prince's abbey, today's Trinity Church with its original symbolic shape was created, parallel to the new construction of the abbey building - also managed by Georg Dientzenhofer. Dientzenhofer died in 1689, shortly before the building was completed. The solemn consecration of the church was carried out in 1711 by Albert Ernst von Wartenberg, Bishop of Regensburg.
