The Werre rises here. Nothing spectacular, but exciting to be standing right at the source. The Werre cycle path also begins here. :)

In Bad Meinberg or Zur Windmühle in Fissenknick you could stop for coffee and cake. Above the source a path leads directly to Fissenknick.

Horn-Bad Meinberg
The Werre begins its course near Wehren near Bad Meinberg. The source is rather inconspicuous, the spring rises almost in the swamp. The water quickly increases in strength and flows as a sizeable body of water through the spa park of Horn Bad Meinberg.
As it continues, the river passes the towns of Detmold and Lage. In Bad Salzuflen, the Werre meets the Bega. As the most important river in the Lippe district, it flows further towards Herford and flows into the Weser after 69 km near Bad Oeynhausen.
