The view from the Titlis summit is truly magnificent. The way there, however, is a somewhat “special” mountain experience. Individual sections are quite beautiful, such as the Westgrat path to the summit or the section between Stand Rindertitlis and Untere Rotegg. In between, don't look at what's being done here for ski tourism.
The Titlis (also called Gross-Titlis) is a 3,238m high mountain 🏔️ in the Urner Alps and lies on the border of the cantons of Obwalden, Bern and Nidwalden.
The name "Titlis" probably comes from an alpine estate. In documents from 1435 it was still called "Tuttels Berg". However, its name was later changed to “Titlisberg”, before it was given its current name a few years later.
