    The Lippingau is a small, quiet river. It flows between Wasserballig and Steinberghaff on a beautiful stretch of beach in the Baltic Sea.

    The environment is largely natural and the Lippingau was renatured, so you can observe animals and nature here. Thanks to the renaturation sea trout come here again for spawning.

      The Lippingau and the walking path to the Gut Oestergaard are now not exactly what you can call a tourist highlight of the north, but if you walk through the small forest called Fischerholz the way along the Au along a nice addition. Here you walk on the small dike that limits the Au along.

      The Au itself is tamed by the ditching and flows slowly towards the Baltic Sea. After all, a section of 450 m at Stobdrup renaturiert and the Au returned her old bed of 1871. Sea trout are increasingly coming to the Au for spawning. The pastures lying next to the trail are probably originally the Auniederung been, as they are very low in contrast to the surrounding fields.
      Nothing spectacular happens here.

      On the way it is peaceful and quiet and those who do not make noise or let the dog run free, can observe deer and wild geese in the meadows. So worth a detour there in any case.

              A super nice circular hike leads along grassy paths along the Lippingau. You get to Gut Oestergaard, where various events are held, and back through a small forest to Tim Fördesteig.

                  None of the water bodies are in good ecological and chemical status. All exceed the limit values for nitrates, mercury and mercury compounds, and the herbicide brominated diphenyl ether.
