St. Kilian is a Catholic parish church in Lechenich, a district of Erftstadt in the Rhein-Erft district. The church is located in the center of the preserved in its layout medieval city in the immediate vicinity of the market square. In 1271, the first church is attested at this point, when the Archbishop of Cologne, Engelbert II von Falkenburg, confirmed to the abbey of St. Aposteln in Cologne all rights to the new church, as the monastery had possessed it at the old church.

In 1254, Archbishop Konrad incorporated the parish church in Lechenich, which was then created, into the monastery of St. Apostles. This was the beginning of the development of today's church as a successor to a parish church that used to be to the west, outside the city walls. This had been abandoned before the town was fortified and was replaced by a small single-nave church with a rectangular choir in front.
