As we stood at the beautiful point of view, from which one can follow the course of the Naab towards Burglengenfeld, we heard the twelve o'clock ringing of the parish church of St. Michael in Kallmünz. Not all Kallmünz citizens could always hear the ringing of the bells. There is the following nice story:
There is an alley in Kallmünz where you can not even hear the bells ringing in the church: the Vilsgasse, which the Schlossberg seals off from all sound on its other side. So that the Vilsgäßler but knew what it had beaten, used to call an errand boy, when it went to the fair. So he was a living bell for the Kallmünzern. But for years, the Vilsgässler have their own bell of ore. It hangs on the house from Rößlwirt. And when it's time to worship, he beats her - and with the other bells, she too rings in the church.
