In front of the church is the famous freestanding city tower with 254 steps and an elevator. Entrance fee is €3 for climbing/viewing the tower, and from here you can enjoy stunning views all around. Since 2006, this has housed the world's highest planetarium.

The Judenburg Town Tower is the landmark of the historic town and, at the same time, a silent observer and guardian of the Aichfeld region. This stone monument, steeped in history, offers visitors fascinating insights and perspectives, and since 2006, as the "Star Tower," has offered spectacular dome projections in Europe's most modern planetarium.

The mighty, four-story tower is 75 meters high and has a tapered, broken-pitched roof. The late Gothic east portal was restored in 1963. Four Roman stones were embedded in the wall in the 19th century.
