The "Pulpit Oak" is protected as a natural monument and is located on the summit of the Schneidberg between Partenstein and Krommenthal, directly on the forest path between the "Reichhöh" and "Hochsitz" departments.
The "pulpit oak" is said to be over 350 years old. With a height of just under 27 m, however, it has an extremely impressive diameter of over 140 cm, that is around 4 m and 50 cm in circumference (measured at a height of 130 cm from the ground). The origin of the name of this oak is explained by a forest expert "Partensteiner" as follows:
