Montcabrer is a mountain in the Catalan Coastal Range, which rises between the towns of Cabrils and Cabrera de Mar, in the Maresme. The main hill of the mountain range is dominated by a large cross, originally made of wood and now iron, documented since the seventeenth century. For this reason, the summit of Montcabrer is also known locally as the Cross, as happens in other places with other mountains that also have a cross at the top (such as the Matagalls in Viladrau and the Puig d'Olorda in Sant Feliu de Llobregat ).

The Montcabrer is next to the Turo de Burriac the defining mountain in the area with the best view. The easiest way to reach it is from the hinterland via a range of hills. But it also goes from the sea side, for example from the Cami de Cabrera. The entrance is at the western end of this street. I can recommend planning the tour in such a way that it is better to walk this section from the bottom up and not the other way around, because the path is very steep, especially in the upper third, and difficult to see. A white point here and there on the rocks shows the direction and you can orientate yourself very well on the Komoot map.
