The landmark of Buchholz is the church tower of St. Pantaleon. With the stately height of around 44 m, it can be seen from almost all 22 villages in the municipality and, with its 14th Helper Chapel, represents a centuries-old tradition.
The foundation stone was laid on June 12, 1862. Unfortunately, the use of nitrate-containing Buchholz sand turned out to be a mistake, and a hundred years later the church had to be demolished because of the acute danger of collapse. After a few months of demolition, the foundation stone of today's church was laid on October 24th; the consecration took place on July 28, 1973, the evening before the Pantaleon Fair.
