Already in the first years after the harbor of Lillo was dug (from 1905 to 1906), people were already laying their boats in this tidal harbor.
First of all, this was only a port for commercial shipping, spires and Kempenaars loaded and unloaded their cargo here, mostly coal and ammunition. In the past it was usually a combination of pleasure boating and fishing that occupied the people.
After the freight transport came to an end, all that remains is purely pleasure craft.
Yachtclub Scaldis has been present in Lillo since 1941.
