The Arènes de Nîmes is a Roman amphitheater in the French city of Nîmes.
In Nîmes, the colonia Nemausus in the province of Gallia Narbonensis of the Roman Empire, the amphitheater was built between 90 and 120 AD based on the model of the Roman Colosseum. It served as a refuge during the Great Migration. In 1863 it was converted into a bullring and today other events are also held there.

Entrance to the visit with audio guide in different languages cost 10 € for an adult.

The Arena of Nîmes is a well-preserved amphitheatre. The structure has a size of 133 by 101 meters. The actual arena measures 69 by 38 meters. The Arena was built between 50 and 100 AD, and is inspired by the famous Colosseum in Rome. It looks like two drops of water on the Arena of Arles. However, there are minor differences. For example, the Arena in Nîmes has a barrel vault, where the Arena in Arles does not.
