This water mill, located downstream of the 'Zwarte Water' and below the Mousty mountain, was mentioned in 1609 as a ban mill: the local residents were obliged to have their grain milled by the appointed miller. It was owned by the Licot family in the 18th century. In 1850 she gave the mill to a certain Guillaume. The mill worked until 1928, when it was dismantled in an electricity cabin.
The watermill has been generating green electricity since 2013. it is a project of the municipality and the Parc Naturel. 600 liters of water per minute passes by, which should be enough to generate 30,000 kWh per year. the electricity equivalent of 6 families. The conversion cost 60,000 €.

Moulin Guillaume is an old water mill dating from the 10th century. You will find it on the banks of Eau Noire, near Mousty hill. The mill was the property of the bishops of Liège, then the lords of Nismes. It stopped operating in 1923 and was bought by the municipality in 1928. Today, the mill has been renovated and transformed into a green energy generator. You can also stay in a charming gite located in the mill, which can accommodate up to six people and has a fireplace, terrace, garden and barbecue. Moulin Guillaume is the ideal place to enjoy the natural and cultural heritage of Viroinval.
