    Thomas Ludwig Werner Freiherr von Fritsch was a German colonel general. During the Nazi era, he held the highest positions in the Wehrmacht from 1934 until his fall in 1938.

      on the west wing of the main Hubertusburg Palace
      It was an important day when the monument to the Saxon peacemaker was inaugurated on March 24, 2007 at the Hubertusburg. After 244 years, the baron was once again recognized for his role as a negotiator at the end of the Seven Years' War.

      The huge boulder is from the Wermsdorf quarry. The artfully crafted sandstone slab with the gold-colored frame and the black face of the baron is attached to it. The client for the belated honor is the "Freundeskreis Hubertusburg".

      The chairman of the Freundeskreis Dr. Georg Müller: "We owe the entry of our Hubertusburg in the book of world history to Baron von Fritsch". After all, he was Saxony's negotiator at the Hubertusburg Peace Treaty in 1763, after which Prussia was obliged to withdraw its troops from Saxony.
      The monument was created by the hands of the artist Joachim Zehme.

        In 1763 the Seven Years War ended with the peace treaty of Hubertusburg. Thomas Freiherr von Fritsch represented Saxon interests during the negotiations. He is considered to be the organizational head of the so-called rétablissement, which initiated the rebuilding of Saxony after the Seven Years' War.
