Chandolin lies between 755 m to 2700 m on the steep eastern slope of the Val d'Anniviers in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. From the village there is an extraordinary view of the Valais Alps from the Zinalrothorn, Besso, Ober Gabelhorn, Zinalspitze to Dent Blanche. The municipality includes the localities of Chandolin, Sousillon and Fang. The upper, young part of the village of Chandolin is located at 1936 m, making it one of the highest villages in Switzerland. In the town center you will find a small supermarket, a post office, a souvenir shop, as well as various cafes and restaurants. Especially the old part of the village, located in the lower area of the municipality, shows some beautifully decorated wooden houses (some with rich floral decorations), which are worth a short detour.
