When the remains of a chapel on Bromberg were uncovered in 1974, the remains of a wall from a second building from the 13th to 14th centuries were discovered just two meters away. At first it was assumed that it was a living room of hermits; supported by the discovery of the remains of the foundations of a tiled stove.

The Bromberg is the highest point of the Schönbuch and this hermitage is not on the main routes of the Schönbuch, hence the name probably. But the detour is definitely worth it, as there is a great way from the Devil's Bridge and it is not far to the Birkensee. There is also an adventurous trail here from or to the grave of the Unknown Soldier.
