Fröhstockheim Castle is a former aristocratic residence
The history of the castle is closely linked to that of the town of Fröhstockheim. A noble seat in the village was first mentioned in the 13th century. Ministerials of the Counts of Hohenlohe sat in the village, Albrecht Fuchs von Stockheim was mentioned by name in 1220. In 1455 Karl von Heßberg acquired the von Hohenlohe fief. In 1525 insurgents burned down the aristocratic residence in the German Peasants' War

The castle has been owned by the Barons of Crailsheim for over 450 years. It is no longer possible to fathom when the moated castle was first built. Before 1220, a family of knights, the Fuchs von Stockheim, exercised sovereign rights. During the Peasants' War in 1525, the Weiherschloss was destroyed and rebuilt in 1531. The stately two-storey building makes an imposing, defiant impression with its four wings around an inner courtyard and its four round towers.
